The Phillies haven't made the playoffs since 2011, but with just over 20 games remaining in the regular season, they currently hold the second of three NL Wildcard spots with a record of 78-62. They had yesterday off after sweeping the Nationals over the weekend.

The Phillies have to be feeling confident handing the ball to Bailey Falter (4-3, 4.02 ERA), who is 1-0 with a 3.68 ERA in two appearances vs. Miami already this season. Philadelphia is 11-4 when Falter pitches, which includes a 4-3 victory over Miami last week.

The home side counters with ace Sandy Alcantara (12-7, 2.43), who has faced the Phillies five this year and gone 1-2 witha 3.28 ERA. He faced Philadelphia on Friday and conceded fiver runs off eight hits over six innings.

"This (race) is going to be as competitive as it gets," Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins remarked after the Nationals sweep. "I know our whole group is excited."

Miami comes in fatigued here after splitting a double-header with Texas on Monday.

I think the PHILLIES are well worth a second look in this spot.
