Total: 6.50 | -128.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 6.50 | -128.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* WESTERN-CONFERENCE SUPER TOTAL on the OVER Oilers/Blues.
We have a couple of heavyweights in the Western Conference going head to head here on Wednesday night.
Edmonton is 3-3, while St. Louis is 3-1
The Oilers are averaging 3.67 goals per game, which ranks ninth. They come in with a ton of momentum here after hammering the Penguins at home in their last game by a score of 6-3. There's no reason not to think that they can't keep that offensive momentum rolling here against the Blues.
St. Louis has been doing what it does best so far, and that's grind teams down and wear them out with its suffocating defensive play.
The Blues average only 2.75 goals per game so far, and that ranks 24th, but they're only conceding 2.25. That ranks fourth overall.
But here's the thing about that; St. Louis is actually coming off its first loss of the season on Monday night, falling 4-0 at Winnipeg, and the reason why that's significant is because the Blues have seen the total go OVER the number in eight of their last 11 after a shutout road loss.
Both teams had a night off between games, so they're rested and ready to go here on Wednesday night.
I'm expecting a faster-paced affair here in St. Louis and I look for this total to indeed fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later.
Good luck, NP
