These teams have been playing to some higher-scoring games of late, but I expect those trends to end this evening.

Buffalo is 7-3 to open the season. It's coming off three straight high-scoring wins, most recently beating Detroit 8-3 and Buffalo 6-3. However, note that the Sabres have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to three or more straight OVERS in a row, and in five of their last six after three or more straight victories in a row.

Carolina is 7-2-1. It's off a 4-3 shootout win over Tampa Bay. Carolina though averages just 3.10 GPG (ranked 16th), while conceding just 2.80 (8th.)

With another tough game in Tampa tomorrow, I believe the visiting side needs to be looking ahead and saving some "gas" for that contest.
