This is a 10* NON-CONF TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the OVER Sharks/Senators.

Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but the overall situation that each finds itself coming into this one, combined with some strong Over/Under trends that support this angle, do indeed make the "OVER" the correct call here finally.

San Jose shutout Montreal 4-0, but then fell 3-1 at Toronto the following night. That was four nights ago though. Note that the Sharks have seen the total go OVER the number in three of their last four when playing with three or more days of rest.

With a game at Buffalo tomorrow, I expect the Sharks to push the pace from start to finish here.

And if recent history is any precedence, then SJ has to be loving its chances, as it just beat the Senators at home in mid-November by a score of 5-1.

Note though that the Sens have seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last ten in trying to avenge a three goals or greater road loss against an opponent.

For all the reasons listed above, the play is the OVER.
