Total: 234.00 | -110.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL BOOKIEKILLER on the UNDER Pistons/Spurs.
I guess for this one you could say that I'm standing in front of the train, as San Antonio comes into this game having seen the total go OVER the number in nine straight games.
The Spurs are only 12-26 this year and they only average 111.7 points per game, but most nights they're unable to stop anyone on the defensive end.
San Antonio comes in having lost three straight, falling 126-125 to Dallas, 139-103 to Brooklyn and 117-114 at New York most recently.
The Spurs obviously catch a big break today though facing the lowly Detroit Pistons. Detroit is just 11-30 this season, including only 6-17 on the road.
The Pistons are actually playing some decent ball by their standards right now, as they've been trading wins and losses over their last five games. Most recently they managed the 122-119 road win at Golden State as a 6.5-point underdog. The Pistons have seen the total go OVER the number in three of their last four, despite still only averaging 111.8 points per game, which ranks 22nd.
Detroit returns home for a home and home set against Philadelphia after this, while San Antonio welcomes Boston to town on Saturday.
I think the conditions are right for both teams to be caught looking and planning ahead to those games.
Ultimately I believe that tonight's O/U line is a little too high now, elevated to this point by perception. The situation in my opinion points to a more defensive affair, as each could struggle to even reach its offensive average.
I think this one finishes in the the lower 220's, so the play here is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
