The Phillies enter on the other end of the spectrum, desperate for a decent start from Bailey Falter here to help stop a five-game slide (it's interesting to note though that the Phillies have seen the total go "under" in eight of their last 11 after five or more losses in a row.) To this point, these starters have struggled, but that just adds fuel to the fire here for both Falter and Red Sox' starter Corey Kluber. While 1-4 with a 6.44 ERA this year, Kluber is 1-0 with a 3.46 ERA in two career outings vs. the Phillies. Falter, who is 0-5 with a 5.01 ERA, faced the Red Sox last ear and three two scoreless innings of relief. The need a win here badly, and that motivation helps us out overall as well.
