After the Orioles 12-2 win here in yesterday's Season Opener, we're expecting much more of a "duel" here on Friday.
We have two really good starters going head-to-head, and all things point to a classic "duel," with the Orioles handing the ball to Charlie Morton and the home side countering with Kevin Gausman.
Morton finished with a 4.19 ERA last year. But he opened up the 2024 season strong, going 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA in five starts over the first month of action.
Gausman closed with a 3.83 ERA last year, but overall he had a "down" season for the Jays. He got out to a slow start, and he didn't really recover until the second half. We believe the veteran will bounce-back here on Opening night.
While yesterday's game flew well over, everything points to a lower-scoring under here on Friday in our opinion.
