Result: Win
The NBA is finally back it tips off tonight with the New Orleans Pelicans taking on the Utah Jazz. The Pels will be trying to make a push for the eighth playoff spot in the Wst. The Pelicans had won two in a row before the stoppage and hope to pick up from where they left off. The big question coming into this game is "will Zion play? and if so how much?" He will be needed if the Pels hope to make the playoffs. When play starts, they sit tied for ninth and are 3.5 games behind the Grizzlies for the final playoff spot. They are tied for 4th in the league in scoring putting up 116.2 points a game. The Pelicans are 27th in the league in scoring defense allowing 117 points a game. The offense is led by Brandon Ingram with 24.3 points a game with 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Zion has played 19 games this season and has put up 23.6 points and 6.8 boards.

It is kind of ironic that Utah starts the NBA season in the bubble because it was the Jazz that put them in the bubble after the season was suspended due to Rudy Gobert testing positive for Covid. They will be without Bojan Bogdanovic, their three-point specialist, as he went under the knife for a wrist injury that had hampered him all season. Utah comes into the bubble in the fourth spot in the West 1.5 games behind the Nuggets for the Northwest Division lead. They also hold a one-game lead over the Thunder and Rockets in the race for home-court advantage. The Jazz are 17th in scoring, putting up 111 points a game. On the defensive end, the rank ninth, giving up 107.9 points a game. The Jazz offense is led by Donovan Mitchell with 24.2 points game with 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists. Mike Conley will need to improve on his 13.8 points a game in the absence of Bogdanovic.

This is the first game after a long pause and I don't look for both offenses to be smooth. It may take a little time for them to find their touch and we may see increased bench play until everyone gets their stamina back. Zion loos to have taken the time to get into shape and could be a beast if he plays. I think the number is a little high for it being the first game back.

Play on the UNDER. This is a 10* play.
