Result: Loss
It's time once again for the RED RIVER SHOOTOUT. it doesn't feel the same this year for a number of reasons. The Atmosphere will definitely not be the dame due to Covid. Also, the Big 12 Conference has been a disappointment as a whole. The #22 Texas Longhorns take on the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl Saturday afternoon.

Texas is coming off a 33-31 loss at home to TCU last weekend. The Longhorns have not lacked for offense this season. They are 12th in the nation in passing offense as they average 326.3 yards with quarterback Sam Ellinger throwing for 924 yards with 14 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. His main targets are Joshua Moore with 300 yards and four touchdowns on 11 catches. Brenden Schooler has 10 catches for 123 yards and two scores. Texas is also ranked 23rd in rushing with 191.3 yards a game. The rushing attack is led by Keaontay Ingram with 173 yards on 32 carries while Roschon Johnson has 143 yards with two touchdowns on 29 carries. Ellinger has rushed for 145 yards and two scores. The Longhorns lead the FBS in scoring at 51 points a game but they allow 30.7 points on the defensive end

Oklahoma has lost two in a row after losing 37-30 on the road by Iowa State. The Sooners have taken two straight and four of the last five meetings between the two. The Sooners are second in the nation in passing offense with 390.3 yards a game. Quarterback Spencer Rattler has thrown for 977 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions, he has also added 16 yards plus a score on the ground. His favorite targets are Charleston Rambo with 171 yards with two touchdowns on 11 catches. Austin Stogner has 174 yards on 11 catches. Their rushing attack is putting up 122.7 yards a game with Seth McGowan leading the way with 181 yards on 34 with two touchdowns. T.J. Pledger adds 88 yards on 24 carries. The Sooners are putting up 37.7 points a game and they are giving up 25 points a game.

Oklahoma has bee abe to generate offense this season but either their defense folds or the offense implodes with untimely turnovers. Texas leads the FBS in scoring offense. Rattler needs more experience under center as he has thrown crucial picks in both losses. This is a huge rivalry game so I am taking the Veteran QB in this one.

Play on Texas.
