The second-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish takes on the Boston College Eagles. The Irish lead the ACC with a 7-0 record and the Eagles are 4-3. The Eagles lost 40-7 on the road last season.

Notre Dame is coming off of a 47-40 double-overtime home victory against top-ranked Clemson who was starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The offense is led by Ian Book with 1535 passing yards to go with eight touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 279 yards with five scores. The rushing attack is led by Kyren Williams with 740 yards and ten touchdowns averaging 5.8 yards a carry. He should be able to find some rushing lanes against a BC defense that is giving up 143.8 rushing yards a game. The Irish defense is giving up just 14 points a game while posting 19 sacks with four interceptions. Boston College has allowed 22 sacks and has thrown four interceptions this season.

Boston College has had a decent season and their offense is putting up 26 points a game behind Notre Dame transfer quarterback Phil Jurkovvec. He has thrown for 2083 yards to go with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. Receivers Zay Flowers, Hunter Long, and CJ Lewis have combined for 1423 yards and 13 touchdowns. They will need to be at the top of their game against a Notre Dame defense that gives up 211 passing yards a game. The rushing attack is led by David Bailey with 429 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Their defense is giving up 24.6 points a game and 373 yards. They will need to step it up on the defensive end.


This is the perfect letdown spot for the Irish after their huge win over Clemson. Boston College will be at home and would love to hand the Irish their first loss of the season. BC can cause some problems through the air and could make this one interesting. They did have a big lead over Clemson but could hold on. The Irish will win this game but I like BC to keep it within the number.
