(NCAAB) Morehead State vs. Kentucky,
Point Spread: 24.50 | -110.00 Morehead State (Away)
Result: Loss
The Kentucky Wildcats tip off their season at the Bluegrass Showcase against the Morehead State Eagles. Once again, a new season will bring new faces to a Kentucky team looking to compete for a national championship. They will have a lot of new faces that will need to learn to play together and returning forward Keion Brooks Jr. is listed as doubtful to play in this game. They brought in transfers Olivier Sarr and Davion Mintz. Kentucky lost its top-five scoring leaders to the NBA this year from last year's team. Morehead State has lost all ten times they have faced Kentucky. Senior James Baker and Sophomore Tyzhaun Claude will both be returning for the Eagles offense. The Eagles are overmatched from strictly a talent perspective. The Wildcats own the SEC’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class.

The Wildcats haven’t had an opportunity to have any meaningful scrimmages to really test themselves against another team. They will probably need time to Gel to get all these new faces used to play playing with each other. The absence of Brooks could be key to the Wildcat's early success. Morehead State has enough veteran talent to keep from getting completely embarrassed in this one. With so many new players for Kentucky, just as in years past, it takes a game or two to figure things out. I am taking the points in this one.

Play on Morehead State.
