The Indiana Hoosiers take on the Providence Friars in the quarterfinals of the Maui Invitational that is not being played in Maui. Indiana opened the season with an 89-59 win over Tennessee Tech. Providence came away with a win in their opener, 97-56 over Fairfield. Against Tennessee Tech the Indiana defense was dominant at times holding Tech without a field goal for over seven minutes in the first half on two separate occasions. The Hoosiers can also do it on the offensive end as they have a big interior presence which accounted for 20 layups against Tech. Providence looked ok in their opener but lost a lot from last year's team and will need to put multiple good games together to gain confidence. The Friars don’t have enough on either end to get the win.
