THE PROFESSOR’S ACC CONFERENCE SMOKE-JOB
(NCAAB) Miami vs. Pittsburgh,
Point Spread: 3.00 | -105.00 Miami (Away)
Result: Win
Miami had some hope before the season started but then they were hit by the injury bug and the season that was once showed some promise became a disappointment. The biggest loss was to preseason All-ACC First Team selection Chris Lykes. Lykes played a few games this season before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. The offense is led by Isaiah Wong 17.1 points and he grabs 5.0 rebounds a game. Kameron McGusty has been able to make a return after sitting out with an injury, he is putting up 12.5 points and did not play in their earlier loss to Pitt. Elijah Olaniyi chips in 11.1 points and he grabs 5.1 rebounds.

Pittsburgh looked good at the start of ACC play, starting the conference season at 4-1, but have dropped 11 of their last 13 games. The offense is lead by Justin Champagnie with 18.4 points and he grabs 11.1 rebounds. Au’Diese Toney with 14.4 a game and Xavier Johnson with 14.2 points and 5.7 assists both joined the transfer portal at the end of February. , but he joined Toney in the transfer portal at the end of last month.

The Panthers lost two of their best three players to the transfer portal before the regular season ended. This has been the healthiest Miami has been since the early part of the season. McGusty and Wong should be able to score against a Pitt defense that is playing backups at both guard positions. The Hurricanes have a height advantage and they have more experience, which I find as a key when it comes t postseason play.

Play on Miami.
