The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet in an ACC conference tournament quarter-final matchup.

The North Carolina Tar Heels opened the ACC Tournament with a win over Notre Dame 101-59. The Tar Heels had their way with the Irish and were led by Armando Bacot with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Walker Kessler added another double-double with 16 points with 12 rebounds and just missed a triple-double with 8 blocks. Caleb Love chipped in 15 points.

The Virginia Tech Hokies enter the ACC Tournament as the #3 seed after finishing the ACC conference season with a 9-4 record and 15-5 overall. The offense is led by Keve Aluma with 15.4 points and 8 rebounds a game. Tyrece Radford adds 11.4 points and he grabs 6.1 rebounds while Nahiem Alleyne chips in 10.2 points. As a team, the Cavaliers put up 72.1 points and they allowed 64.8.

Virginia Tech has relied a lot on Aluma for their offense this season. The problem is a lot of his production has come in the paint and he will find it rough down low with the Carolina front-line. North Carolina is the seventh-tallest team in college basketball and will in the paint against the smaller Hokies. The Tar Heels are the best offensive rebounding team in the country. North Carolina is coming off their best performance of the season and they are playing their best basketball right now.
