Money Line: -102.00 San Diego (Home)
Result: Loss
The New York Mets are coming off a 2-0 loss to the Padres last night. The Mets managed just three hits in the game with those three hits coming from just two players. The Mets will look to get things going by sending Jacob deGrom to the mound. He has posted a 4-2 record with a 0.71 ERA and 82 strikeouts this season. Against the Padres, he is 4-3 with a 1.57 ERA and 61 strikeouts.

It is always nice to win the first game of a series and will now look to build on that win and take on deGrom in game two. Manny Machado drove in both Padre's runs in the win. Joe Musgrove is no slouch when it comes to starters and will take his 4-4 record and 2.08 ERA into this matchup with deGrom. Against the Mets, he is 1-2 with a 6.39 ERA.

The Padres have also gone 15-2 in their last 17 home games. deGrom is having another great season but he never seems to get any run support from the Mets. Musgrove has pitched well this season and it will not be easy for the Mets to push runs across the plate. The Padres have the better and more consistent lineup and like them to take this one late as deGrom can't pitch forever.

Play on the San Diego Padres.
