Washington took Game 1 of their four-game set against the Miami Marlins yesterday. The Nets will go with Jon Lester on the mound to face the Marlins. He has posted a 3.96 ERA this season with 35 strikeouts and 17 walks in 50.0 innings. Miami will counter the Nats by sending Pablo Lopez to the mound. So far this season, he has posted a 2.86 ERA with 85 strikeouts and 21 walks in 85.0 innings.

Lopez went 7.0 innings with one hit, seven Ks, and no earned versus the Cubs in his last start. He has already faced the Nats once this season and went 7 scoreless innings. Lester has been pitching great as of late, allowing two or fewer earned in each of his last five outings. Washington has had a nice little run going but that has been mostly at home we will see what happens on the road against a pitcher that pitches well against them.
