The Cardinals and Dodgers play their final head-to-head game of the regular season. Clayton Kershaw is 1-2, with 3.50 ERA. St Louis snapped a five-game losing streak with yesterday’s win. Sonny Gray makes the start for the Cards. He is 11-7, with a 3.93 ERA. The Dodgers are 4-2 against St. Louis this season. Gray has posted a 5.89 ERA, and opponents hit .280 against him over his last eight starts., so he could be in big trouble against the slugging Dodgers. He’s also allowed nine home runs in his last five outings and now he faces the top home run hitting team in the National League. Kershaw has started to round into form in only four starts and I expect the wily vet will really lock in in start number five. He has only allowed two home runs in 53 2/3 innings at Busch Stadium in his career, so that won’t be a viable option of return for the Cards. Los Angeles is 6-4 in their last 10 games against the Cardinals prior to Saturday.
