Point Spread: 1.50 | -118.00 Sun Devils (ASU) (Away)
Result: Win
We have a Big 12-Sun Belt crossover game to kick off week three with the Arizona State Sun Devils going on the road to face the Texas State Bobcats. ASU finished last season at 3-9 and 2-7 in the PAC-12. They have gotten off to a 2-0 start this season with wins over Wyoming and Mississippi State 30-23. They have relied on the ground game and Cam Skattebo. He has 44 carries for 311 yards in the first two games. Sam Leavitt has thrown for 327 yards with two touchdowns and has rushed for two scores. On the defensive side of the ball, they are allowing just 15 points a game. Texas State went 8-5 last season and 4-4 in the Sun Belt. This season they have gotten past Lamar and UTSA. They have a wide open offensive attack that has seen them puy up 582 passing yards and 408 yards on the ground. Jordan McCloud has thrown for 547 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. On the defensive side, They looked better in week two, they gave up 24 points to an FCS team in week one but held UTSA to just 10 points in week two. The Sun Devils have looked good in the first two weeks outsourcing their opponents this spot. They’ve looked sharp through the first two weeks, out-scoring their opposition 78-30. As for Texas State, they barely snuck by FC78-30. Texas State played a lot better in week two but giving up 24 points to Lamar makes me nervous. ASU’s defense has only conceded 15.0 points per game this season, and are coming off a big win over Mississippi State. The Sun Devils have faced better competition. ASu has the better defense also. Ina matchup between a power four program and a mid-tier group of five school and a short number I am all over ASU.
