The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees kick off their MLB season looking to replace a big bat from their respective lineups. Last season, the Brewers won 93 games under first year manager Pat Murphy. Closer Devon Williams was traded to the Yankees for Nestor Cortes. The Brewer also lost Willy Adames from their everyday lineup. The Yankees made it to the World Series last season but may find it tough to get back there after losing Juan Soto and starting the season without Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton. They did add Cody Bellinger and Williams in trades and added Max Fried and Paul Goldschmidt via free agency. Carlos Rodon will get the start for the Yankees. He won 16 games in 32 starts last season, both career highs. Rodon allowed two runs or fewer 20 times last season. He is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA in four career starts against the Brewers. Freddy Peralta gets the start for the Brewers. He went 11-9 with a 3.68 ERA in 32 starts last season. Peralta had 210 strikeouts. The Yankees have a slight edge on the mound and at the plate even without Stanton in the lineup.
