Im on the Missouri State Bears +4 at home vs Tulsa for these reasons:
- Missouri State can win this game. Defensively, they are a huge leap better than Tulsa to start the season, allowing only 75 points to Butler on the road in game one of the season, and even though they let Missouri Southern score 60 on them, it’ll be a different level of defense here in their first home game.
- Tulsa are scoring machines when they can get contact. Shooting 29 and 30 free throws in the first two games of the season….. that’s not happening here in Missouri. Tulsa hasn’t played any level of competition near to the Butler that Missouri State has played, and though they are undefeated and have a lot of size, they haven’t shot well to open the year from deep, hitting only 34% in total and I feel like they deep ball is the only weakness defensively to this Missouri team. So them lacking the ability to really attack Missouri in the way needed to win this game, and the lack of shooting so many free throws as they have already (85 attempts) will make this a tough game for them. I’ll take the Bears as home underdogs.
Official Play: Missouri State +4
