AMEDEUS' MLB DIAMOND DINGER!
(MLB) Tampa Bay vs. Houston,
Money Line: 100.00 Houston (Home)
Result: Loss
The Rays are coming into this game not playing very well in their recent games as they started the season so hot but are now starting to regress as they have slipped down to 2nd place in their division. They have lost 3 of their last 4 as well as 8 of their last 10 games and their offense has been cooling off in that span as well. They have scored just 3 runs or less in 7 of their last 9 games and have also been averaging around 3 runs scored per game in that span. They are going up against an Astros team that has been playing much better on offense recently as they have been averaging over 6 runs scored per game in their last 3 games and they have also been playing a lot better as they have won 3 of their last 4 as well as 6 of their last 8 games. Cristian Javier is starting for the Astros and he is 7-2 with a 4.32 ERA this season. He has been struggling in his recent starts as he went through a bit of a rough patch but he has been a lot better now as he has been allowing less and less runs in each of his last 3 starts, only allowing 2 earned runs in his last one. He has also been much better at home this season as he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 3 of his last 4 as well as 5 of his last 7 home starts. Shane McClanahan is starting for the Rays and he is 11-1 with a 2.89 ERA this season. He has been very good all season but he did suffer an injury recently and has not been the same in his 2 starts since coming back. He has actually allowed at least 2 earned runs in each of his last 4 starts as well as allowing at least 4 earned runs in 2 of his last 3 starts. He is going to allow some runs here with the way he has been pitching recently as the Astros offense is starting to heat up now, and the Rays have been regressing with their offense recently so McClanahan is not going to get the run support he usually does here. The Astros will win this game at home.
