The Angels are coming into this game playing in some high scoring games recently as they have seen 10 runs total or more in 4 of their last 5 as well as 6 of their last 8 games. They have been awful in that span as they have been slumping recently and their pitching staff has been allowing a lot of runs as they have allowed at least 7 runs in 4 of their last 5 games. Their offense has not been good in that span either but they still have one of the better offenses in the league this season with the way they have been hitting all year and they are going up against a Rangers team that has not had great pitching this season so their offense will get a much needed spark in this game. The Rangers have also been in some high scoring games recently as they have seen 10 runs total or more in 3 of their last 4 games and their offense has been great in those, scoring at least 7 runs in 3 of those. Reid Detmers is starting for the Angels here and he is 2-9 with a 5.27 ERA this season. He has been awful in the month of August as he has allowed 7 earned runs in both of his starts as well as allowing at least 4 earned runs in 4 of his last 6 starts. He has not been great on the road either as he has allowed at least 7 earned runs in 2 of his last 3 as well as allowing at least 4 earned runs in 3 of his last 5 road starts. The Rangers offense has been very hot recently and they will find ways to score at home here with the way they have been scoring runs recently. Jon Gray is starting for the Rangers here and he is 8-5 with a 3.65 ERA this season. He is coming off of a good start in his last but he has not been great in his recent starts as he has still allowed at least 5 earned runs in 2 of his last 3 and has allowed at least 4 runs in 5 of his last 7 starts. He has not been that great at home either as he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts there. The Angels have not been hitting well recently but they still have a very good offense that will be hungry to bounce back and break out of this slump and they will get plenty of chances to score runs on Gray and the Rangers bullpen here. Between these two teams, there will be enough runs in this game to push it over the total.
