The Rangers are coming into this game not playing very well recently as they have lost their last 8 straight games and are in the middle of a big slump right now. Their offense has not been scoring a lot of runs in those games but they still have one of the better offenses in the MLB this season and they are going to be desparate to bounce back in this game and stop the bleeding. They are going up against a Twins team that has been playing better recently as they have won their last 2 straight but their pitching has not been great as they have allowed at least 5 runs in 3 of their last 4 games. Joe Ryan is starting for the Twins here and he is 9-8 with a 4.43 ERA this season. He has been very good for most of the season but recently he has been unraveling in his starts as he allowed 7 earned runs in his last start and has allowed at least 4 earned runs in each of his last 3 as well as 4 of his last 5 starts. This has also been becoming a consistent problem for him as he has been allowing runs like this since the end of June and has not been able to work through his recent issues which will be a problem against one of the best offenses in the league here as the Rangers will be sure to get a spark in this game. Max Scherzer is starting for the Rangers here and he is 12-5 with a 3.77 ERA this season. He has had his struggles this season back when he was on the Mets but he has been a lot better since getting traded to the Rangers as he has not allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of his 4 starts for them and he has allowed just 1 earned run or less in 2 of his last 3 starts as well. The Twins have been hitting well recently but their offense is not that strong and Scherzer will be able to shut them down here now that he has been pitching much better recently. The Rangers offense will also show up big here as they look to stop the bleeding in the middle of this slump. The Rangers will bounce back here and win this game.
