The Magic are coming into this game with a 2-2 record this season but they have lost their last 2 games after winning their first 2 to start the season. Their wins came at home to the Rockets and on the road against the Trail Blazers while their 2 losses were both on the road against much better teams in the Lakers and the Clippers. They are coming off of that loss against the Clippers in a game they lost by 16 points, but that was also the 2nd end of a B2B after losing by just 3 points to the Lakers the night before. The Magic were improving a lot last season with the pieces they have starting to form a solid starting lineup with rookie draft pick Paolo Banchero and now that they have all had a full season to play together, they are only going to improve even more this season. They are going up against a Jazz team that is 2-3 this season and they are coming off of a big win at home in their last game as they beat the Grizzlies by over 20 points. The Grizzlies have also struggled a lot though as they are 0-5 this season and even though the Jazz are coming off of that win at home, they are still in an awful spot here. Both of these teams are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights but the Magic have a day of rest while the Jazz are playing the 2nd end of a B2B here. The Magic have been able to beat the bad teams they have faced this season and they even played very well against the Lakers on the road before losing to the Clippers in their last game. They will be hungry to bounce back here in a much better spot than the Jazz and they also have the better starting lineup as well with the team they have been building over the last few years.
