Wisconsin is coming into this game with a 1-1 record this season. They finished last season with a 20-15 record but underperformed in the Big 10 with a losing conference record. They will be hungry to have a much improved season though, especially since they are returning around 89% of their minutes played as well as around 92% of their scoring from last year. They opened the season with a big win at home by double digits against Akansas State but they are coming off of a 10 point loss at home in their last game, losing to Tennessee who is ranked 7th in the country. That was a very tough game for them that they played well in and they will be hungry to bounce back here against a much weaker opponent. They are going up against a Providence team that is 2-0 this season but they are also in their 1st year of a new head coach after losing Ed Cooley. They were a very good team last year finishing 20-12 but they are also returning less than 46% of their minutes played and scoring from last year. Both of their wins this season have been at home by double digits as they beat Columbia and Milwaukee but Wisconsin is a much better team from the Big 10 with something to prove this year with all of the returning starters. Providence is not the same team as they were last season and even being at home in this game again, Wisconsin will beat them as they are the better team and will be hungry to bounce back from their loss at home to a very good Tennessee team. Wisconsin will win this game.
