California is coming into this game with a 6-6 record to finish the regular season but they were playing very well in their final games of the season. They were 3-6 and found a way to win their last 3 straight games just to become bowl eligible and get to this game. They also won 2 of those games on the road as they beat Stanford and UCLA as well as picking up a home win against Washington State. They are going up against a Texas Tech team that also finished the regular season with a 6-6 record. They won 3 of their last 4 games to get here but they are coming off of a 57-7 loss in their final game of the season against Texas. Texas Tech has been playing well in their last 4 games but they also came into the season with much higher expectations and their season ended up being plagued by injuires. California had a very rough start to their season as well but they fought hard in their last 3 games to get here and it means a lot more to them since they have not been in a bowl game in years. California also has a very good run game which will match up well against this Texas Tech defense that has trouble stopping the run this season. California will cover the spread in this game.
