The Pelicans are coming into this game with a 23-16 record this season and they have been playing very well in their recent games. They have won 2 of their last 3 as well as 6 of their last 8 games and they have beaten some quality opponents in that span as well. They are 11-8 on the road this season and they are coming off of a loss against the Nuggets on the road in their last game, but they have also won 7 of their last 8 games on the road as that was their 1st true road loss since losing to the Bulls in Chicago back on December 2. The Pelicans are on a B2B here but they have a fully healthy starting lineup and they are going to be hungry to bounce back here after losing to the Nuggets last night. This is also a big game for them in the standings since they have the same record as Dallas and they are going to get up for this game knowing they are getting a weakened Mavericks lineup with no Doncic. They are going up against a Mavericks team that is also 23-16 this season and they are coming off of a nice win at home against the Knicks in their last game, but Kyrie also carried the team in that game and it will be much harder for him to do that against this healthy Pelicans lineup. The Mavericks have won 4 of their last 5 games but all 5 of those games have been at home and a majority of them have been against some of the worst teams in the NBA as well. The Pelicans are a much better team when healthy and the Mavericks do not have the talent right now with all of their current injuires to beat the Pelicans in this game. The Pelicans are going to get up for this divisional game after losing last night and knowing they have a chance to take advantage of the Mavericks with no Doncic and pass them in the standings.
