Illinois is coming into this game with an 18-6 record this season and they have been one of the better teams in the Big 10 as they are 9-4 in the conference. They have been playing very well recently as they have won 4 of their last 5 games, their only loss in that span coming on the road against a Michigan State team that has been starting to heat up recently. They have lost 2 of their last 4 games on the road but they have also shown they can win on the road in the conference with dominant wins over Ohio State and Michigan on the road in that span. They are going up against a Maryland team that is 14-11 this season and has not been great in the conference as they are 6-8. They are coming off of a win at home against Iowa in their last game, but prior to that win they had lost 3 straight games. They have also been inconsistent at home in the conference as they have lost 2 of their last 4 as well as 3 of their last 6 games there. Maryland also beat Illinois on the road in January so Illinois will be hungry to get some revenge here, especially since they were missing one of their best players in that game in Terrance Shannon Jr. Illinois is a ranked team and they have been playing much better in recent games as this is the time of the season to start making a strong push to the finish line. They will continue to play well here as they play with some extra incentive in getting their revenge as well. Illinois will cover the spread in this game.
