Cincinnati is coming into this game with a 22-14 record this season and they were 7-11 in their conference. They have been playing very well in their recent games as they have won their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games. They have not had a very strong schedule though as they have played against 2 weaker teams in the NIT and 2 of their wins in this span also came against West Virginia who was one of the worst teams in the Big 12 this season. They do have a win over Kansas in that span but it was a watered down Kansas team with injuries and they have also been awful in their games to end the season. Cincinnati is coming off of a very dominant win against Bradley in their last game, but this is still a team that struggled to beat San Francisco at home in the 1st round of this tournament, only winning that game by 1 point in OT. This is also going to be their 1st road game of the tournament as well. They are going up against an Indiana State team that is 30-6 this season and they were 17-3 in their conference. They were the best team in their conference during the regular season and missed out on the NCAA Tournament because they lost in the finals of their conference tournament, but they were easily the biggest snub out of all the teams left out of the NCAA Tournament. They struggled in their 1st game of this tournament as they were trailing SMU at home by 10+ points for most of the game, but they still managed to come back and win the game by 9 points as they are just that good. They followed up with a dominant 12 point win over Minnesota in their last game as well. Indiana State has been playing with a chip on their shoulder after being left out of the NCAA Tournament and they are going to get up for this game as they are hungry to win this tournament.
