AMEDEUS' MLB BOOKIE BATTER!
(MLB) St. Louis vs. Milwaukee,
Money Line: -129.00 St. Louis (Away)
Result: Loss
The Cardinals are coming into this game with a 15-21 record this season and they are currently sitting at the bottom of their division, but they still have lots of season left to make up ground and this is a great series to start in against the division leaders. The Cardinals were swept by the Mets in their last series in 2 games as they ended up getting the day off yesterday, but the Cardinals have now lost their last 4 straight as well as 6 of their last 7 games. They are going up against a Brewers team that is 21-15 this season and leading the division right now, but they have not been playing well recently either as they have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Their pitching has not been good in these as they have allowed at least 5 runs in their last 2 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games, and their bullpen also got blown up against the Royals yesterday in what was a very close game until then. The recent pitching troubles are going to continue here as well as the Brewers have Tobias Myers starting in this game and he is 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA this season. He is in his rookie season with just 3 starts under his belt and although he was good in his 1st MLB start, he has struggled in his last 2 as he has allowed at least 4 earned runs in each, even pitching just 3 innings in his last start. He does not have a lot of experience pitching well at this level so this is a great opportunity for the Cardinals offense to get a spark and snap out of their losing streak with a win. Sonny Gray is going to be starting for the Cardinals here and he is 4-1 with a 0.89 ERA this season. He has been great in his starts this season as he has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in any of his 5 starts, pitching shutouts in 3 of those starts, and he has only allowed 3 earned runs total all season between his 5 starts, pitching at least 5 innings in each and at least 6 innings in 4 of those. He is coming off of his best start of the season as he allowed no runs in 7 innings and he is going to continue that here as he only gave up 2 earned runs in a start against the Brewers earlier this season, a game they lost 2-0. The Cardinals are going to have a much easier time scoring runs in this game with the pitching matchup and Gray will do enough in this game, as he has been doing all year, to get them the win. The Cardinals will win this game.
