(MLB) Texas vs. Seattle,
Money Line: -122.00 Seattle (Home)
Result: Win
The Rangers are coming into this game with a 33-36 record this season and they have been a very inconsistent team this season, losing to the Mariners 3-2 in their last game as well. They are going up against a Mariners team that is leading the division at 41-31 this season and has a chance to really spread the gap between them and 2nd place with this series. They have been playing very well recently as they have won 5 of their last 6 games, and their pitching has been very good in these. George Kirby is starting for the Mariners in this game and he is 5-5 with a 3.81 ERA this season. He struggled at the beginning of the season, but now he is rounding into form as he has been pitching much better in his recent starts. He is coming off of a start which he allowed 1 earned run in 7 innings and he has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in each of his last 3 starts. He has also been much better at home this season as he has allowed just 1 earned run total in his last 3 home starts, pitching at least 6 innings in each of those. Nathan Eovaldi is starting for the Rangers here and he is 3-2 with a 2.68 ERA this season. He has been a very good starter since getting to the Rangers last season and he has been pitching well recently as he has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in each of his last 5 starts. He has still allowed 5 earned runs total in his last 3 starts though, allowing at least 1 run in each, and that is going to be an issue here since the Mariners have been pitching so well recently. Nathan Eovaldi has also struggled against the Mariners recently as he allowed 12 earned runs combined in his last 2 starts against them just last year. The Mariners have been pitching well recently so the bullpen will be able to pick up where Kirby leaves off and the Mariners offense will find ways to score runs on Eovaldi and the Rangers in this game. The Mariners are going to win this game at home.
