AMEDEUS' NFL IN THE POCKET PLAY!
(NFL) Texans (HOU) vs. Colts (IND),
Point Spread: 3.00 | -110.00 Colts (IND) (Home)
Result: Win
The Texans are coming into this game off of a very good season last year, winning the AFC South and going to the playoffs in CJ Stroud's rookie season and DeMeco Ryan's 1st season coaching the team. They have done a lot in the offseason to improve the team, bringing in players like Stefon Diggs, Dalton Schultz, and Joe Mixon to give this offense a boost, but Stroud is due for some regression in his 2nd NFL season. He was very good last season and broke a record for most pass attempts without throwing an interception, but now there is more tape on him and defenses are going to be more away of his weaknesses. They are going up against a Colts team that was also very impressive last season in their 1st year with Steichen as head coach. This is a team that went 4-12-1 with 2 different head coaches the season prior, but he turned this team around in his 1st season there. They did not go to the playoffs, but they came close as they finished 9-8 and that was with their starting quarterback going down early in the season as well, Minshew taking over. Now Anthony Richardson is going to be back healthy this season and he was showing some very good signs last year before getting injured. He still has plenty of talent to throw to in this offense, but he can also use his legs which will be key in this game. It will also help having Jonathan Taylor back healthy for this game since he will be a big threat on the ground as well. The Colts lost at home by 4 points to the Texans near the end of last season, but they actually won the game on the road 31-20 in the 2nd game of the season, and that was a game that Richardson was playing very well in before leaving injured. The Colts are going to cover the spread in this game.
