AMEDEUS' NFL PRIME TIME SUNDAY SMASHER!
(NFL) Rams (LAR) vs. Lions (DET),
Total: 52.50 | -105.00 Under
Result: Win
The Lions are coming into this game off of a very good season which they won the NFC North and finished 12-5 as one of the better teams in the NFC. They have improved each season under Dan Campbell and now they are going to be hungry for a Super Bowl appearance as they improved the team even more. They still have plenty of talent on offense between Goff and the players he can throw to, but they also have a very good running game as well and that is going to be key here. This Rams defense has been improving over the last season so running the ball effectively is going to be key to winning this game, and Campbell will want to run the ball in this 1st game to set the tone as well. They have 2 very good running backs in Montgomery and Gibbs who did a lot of damage last year with their 1-2 punch. They are going up against a Rams team that is also coming off of a good season which they made the playoffs, but they will be trying to take back the NFC West this year and they have improved their defense to do so. Stafford has returned for another season and he still has plenty of talent from last season like Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua who had a break out year. The Rams have always been a great passing team with Sean McVay, but last season they developed a very good run game with Kyren Williams having a great season and that is going to be a key part of their offense this year as well. The Lions have improved their defense a lot this season so the Rams will need to run the ball effectively to move it up field, and that is something they will be able to do. Williams will be pushing to replicate his break out season last year, but they also drafted Blake Corum out of Michigan who has been one of the best running backs in college over the last few years so now the Rams have their own 1-2 punch and will find ways to run the ball creatively. Both teams are going to try to set the tone here by running the ball a lot in this prime time game, and with Stafford returning to Ford Field once again, this is going to have more of a playoff atmosphere just like their meeting in the playoffs last season which ended in a 24-23 win for the Lions, only seeing 47 total points. This is going to be a low scoring and more run heavy game that stays under the total.
