AMEDEUS' NFL NFC WEST GAME OF THE MONTH!
(NFL) Rams (LAR) vs. Cardinals (ARI),
Point Spread: 1.50 | -120.00 Rams (LAR) (Away)
Result: Loss
The Rams are coming into this game off of a loss to the Lions in their 1st game of the season. They lost on the road to the Lions, but they played very well in that game as they had a late lead and ended up losing the game 26-20 in overtime as their defense could not hold up. The Rams were right in that game though with their defense stopping a very good Lions offense on many occasions, and the Rams offense also played very well with Stafford slinging the ball around. Kyren Williams only had 50 rushing yards, but that was against a good Lions defensive line. It will be much easier for them to run the ball in this game as the Cardinals run defense is not as good, letting James Cook rush for 70 yards himself while Josh Allen also had 40 yards. Puka Nacua is out for the Rams, but they still have plenty of weapons on this offense to burn the Cardinals with. They are going up against a Cardinals team that is also coming off of a loss in their 1st game of the season. They lost on the road against the Bills 34-28 and they came out slinging on offense as they caught the Bills offguard early, but the Bills quickly settled into the 2nd quarter and they were able to come back on this Cardinals defense. The Cardinals have been letting a lot of defensive talent go over the last few seasons and Gannon does not have that defense ready to go with the talent he currently has. Kyler Murray was effective on the ground against the Bills, but he only had 162 passing yards and is not on the same page as his new WR, missing a few wide open plays in that game. The Rams have the better defense here and they will be able to score with their weapons, especially since McVay has had the Cardinals number ever since he got to the Rams. Since coming to the Rams in 2017, Sean McVay is 13-2 straight up against the Cardinals, including a win in their only playoff meeting in that span, and he is a perfect 7-0 in Arizona. The Cardinals have actually struggled at home against the Rams going back before McVay got there as well, losing the last 9 straight meetings with the Rams at home, the last time the Cardinals winning at home against the Rams coming back in 2014 when they were the St Louis Rams. The Rams are going to cover the spread in this game.
