Miami Ohio is coming into this game with a 1-4 record this season and this is not the same team that won the MAC just a season ago. They lost a lot of their production in the portal and their quarterback has not been playing well this season despite returning. They are going up against an Eastern Michigan team that is 4-1 this season and 1-0 in the conference as they are becoming a serious threat in the MAC this season. Their offense has been on fire recently as well, scoring 36+ points in each of their last 3 games. Their run game has been decent this season, but they have a very competent passer in Cole Snyder who is completing 65.3% of his passes this season and has no interceptions in 5 games either. Their run game has not been amazing, but they are still averaging 151.6 rushing yards per game and will be able to move the ball on the ground against this defense. Miami Ohio is averaging 176.8 rushing yards allowed per game and 4.9 yards per carry so EMU will have success on the ground and that is only going to open up the passing game for them. Eastern Michigan has had a very good run defense themselves and Miami Ohio is only averaging 79.2 rushing yards per game so Miami Ohio will have to move the ball through the air, but their quarterback has been less than par as well. Gabbert is only averaging 6.5 yards per passing attempt and is completing just 55.1% of his passes. He also has 5 TDs this season and 7 interceptions as turning the ball over has been a big problem. Eastern Michigan will be able to move the ball here at home while Miami Ohio struggles a lot more, and EMU has also been taking better care of the ball which will be a factor in this game as well.
