Ohio State is coming into this game with a 5-0 record this season and they are 2-0 in the Big 10. They already had a road test this season with a 38-7 win over Michigan State and now they are coming off of a 35-7 win at home against Iowa who has a very good defense. They are going up against an Oregon team that is also 5-0 this season and 2-0 in the Big 10, but they have had a few scares already. They struggled in their 1st game of the season against Idaho, only scoring 24 points in that win, and they also had a scare against Boise State, winning that game by just 3 points and allowing 34 points as well. They have played better in their last 3 games, but they have not had a real welcome to the Big 10 yet. They are coming off of a win against Michigan State in their last game, winning 31-10 against a Michigan State team that has been struggling on offense all season, and their 1st road game in the Big 10 was against a very bad UCLA team that was basically still a Pac-12 game. Oregon has been defending well this season, but their defense has not been nearly as good as it was last season. Ohio State also has a very good defense that is one of the better ones in the country and they have been allowing less yards than Oregon both on the ground and through the air. Even with points allowed, Ohio State has the best defense right now allowing just 6.8 points per game while Oregon is 22nd in the country, allowing 17 points per game. They have a very good passing game with Dillon Gabriel, but he has struggled to finish off drives and field goals are not going to win this game, even being at home. Ohio State has the much better run game with both Judkins and Henderson and they are going to be very hard for this defense to stop. Will Howard has also been very efficient as a passer. Ohio State is the better team on both sides of the ball and this is their game to lose. They have the quality to make a statement in this game and these are the games they need to win on the road if they want to win a National Championship this year. Ohio State will cover the spread in this game.
