Iowa State is coming into this game with a 5-0 record this season and they are 2-0 in the Big 12. They are coming off of a 43-21 win at home against Baylor in their last game and they have been very dominant in a lot of their wins. They have only played in 2 road games this season though and their offense has not been as good in those games, scoring just 20 points in each. They are going up against a West Virginia team that is 3-2 this season, but they are also 2-0 in the Big 12 and have played much better recently. Both of their losses were in tough rival games as well, losing to Penn State who is ranked 4th in the country and losing by 4 to Pittsburgh who is 5-0 to start the season. Their offense has been very good in their recent games, scoring 32+ points in 4 straight games, and their defense was much better in their last game as well, only allowing 14 points on the road to Oklahoma State. West Virginia has a very balanced offense right now as they are averaging 223 rushing yards per game, 5.3 yards per carry, and their passing game as also been good with the strong run game. Iowa State has been great on defense this season, but they can certainly be exploited on the ground. They are allowing 138 rushing yards per game and 4.2 yards per carry which is going to give this West Virginia offense opportunities to move the ball on the ground. Their pass defense has been great, but it will not matter much if they cannot stop this WVU run game that has been a force this season. Iowa State also relies a lot on the run game in their offense and this West Virginia team has actually had a better run defense. They are allowing 130.2 rushing yards per game and 3.7 yards per carry. They will be able to slow down Iowa State in this game and offense is not going to be much of a problem for them. West Virginia is also going to get up for this game at home and bring a little extra for one of the few undefeated teams left in the Big 12. West Virginia will cover the spread in this game.
