The Buccaneers are coming into this game with a 3-2 record this season and they are coming off of a tough divisional loss in their last game. They lost on the road to the Falcons 36-30 in OT and their defense blew a late lead in that game. They will be hungry to bounce back in this game though and that loss to the Falcons was on Thursday so they have some extra days to get ready for this game. Their defense should play much better here as the Saints are going with a rookie quarterback in this game, making his 1st ever NFL start. The Saints have a very good defense to lean on this game as they are averaging 19.2 points allowed per game which is top 10 in the league, but they have not been as good recently as they have allowed 26 points in each of their last 2 games. Their offense has also struggled a lot more as they have scored just 13 points or less in 2 of their last 3 games, and Carr played for a majority of the time in those games. The offense is not going to get better with Rattler making his 1st NFL start and they will likely run the ball more to take the stress off of him so that makes the job easier for this Bucs defense as they can sell out on stopping the run and force this rookie quarterback to beat them with his arm in his 1st ever NFL start. The Bucs offense has also been very good this season as they have scored 33+ points in their last 2 straight as well as 3 of their 5 games this season. The Bucs defense will have a much better game here and the offense is going to score points here, as good as this Saints defense has been. The Buccaneers have also won the last 2 straight meetings as well as 3 of the last 4 in New Orleans with all 3 of those wins coming by 10+ points, and this will be another game that runs away from the Saints at home. The Buccaneers will cover the spread in this game.
