(NCAAF) Tigers (MEM) vs. Mountaineers (WVU),
Point Spread: -4.50 | -113.00 Tigers (MEM) (Away)
Result: Win
Memphis is coming into this game with a 10-2 record this season and they were 6-2 in their conference, finishing as one of the better teams in the AAC. They ended their regular season with a 34-24 win against Tulane and they have won their last 3 straight games as well. Their offense has been very potent in these games as well, scoring 27+ points in each of their last 6 games and scoring 33+ points in 5 of those games. They are going up against a West Virginia team that is 6-6 this season and they were 5-4 in their conference. They did not end the season playing well though, losing 2 of their last 3 games, and they are coming off of a 52-15 loss to Texas Tech in their last game. Their defense has been awful in these games as they have allowed 49+ points in 2 of their last 3 games, and this has been a problem for them all season as they have allowed 21+ points in their last 7 straight games as well. West Virginia does not have a great passing offense as they have been a more run heavy team all season, but they are going to struggle to run the ball against this Memphis defense that is only allowing 103.9 rushing yards per game and 3.8 yards per carry. West Virginia has not been defending the run well either, allowing 141.4 rushing yards per game and 4.1 yards per carry, and that will be a problem with Memphis averaging 173.6 rushing yards per game and 5 yards per carry. Memphis is going to have success on the ground here, but they also have a great passing offense to attack this WVU defense and WVU has not been defending the pass well this season either. Memphis will have many ways to move the ball in this game while West Virginia will have trouble running the ball on this defense and that will disrupt their offense in this game. Memphis will cover the spread in this game.
