The Texans are coming into this game with a 9-5 record this season, but they have not played many strong teams this season. They have played 4 games against teams over .500 and they are 1-3 in those games. They are coming off of a win against the Dolphins in their last game and beat the Jaguars by 3 points the week prior, but they also have a bad loss at home to the Titans in their last 3 games. They are going up against a Chiefs team that is 13-1 this season and they are coming off of a 21-7 win against the Browns in their last game. Their defense has been great all season and has been playing much better recently, holding opponents to 17 points or less in their last 3 straight games, but they finally had a good game which they held their opponent to just 7 points and blew them out. The Chiefs will be hungry to build on that game after winning quite a few close games and the Texans have not been great on offense recently. Joe Mixon has been great for the Texans this season, but the Chiefs have a very good run defense that is one of the better ones in the league so the Texans are not going to have an easy time moving the ball here. The Chiefs also have Pacheco back and Hunt has been running well with the team too so the Chiefs are going to have success on the ground as the Texans have struggled to stop the run against better rushing teams this year. Mahomes got banged up last week but it will not be a problem in this game as he will be able to make the plays needed to win at home, and they will lean on the run game as well which will have a good day against this defense. The Chiefs will cover the spread in this game.
