The Senators are coming into this game with an 18-15-2 record this season and they have not been playing well in their recent games. They have lost their last 2 straight games and their scoring has been a problem in those with 3 goals scored in their last 2 games. They have also allowed 7 goals in those 2 games and they are in a bad spot here as they are playing on a B2B, losing 4-2 in Winnipeg last night after taking a 2-0 lead but allowing 4 unanswered goals to lose the game. The Senators were very hot prior to the break, but they went into the break off of a 3-1 road loss to the Oilers and that break killed their momentum as they came out with that 4-2 loss against the Jets in their last game. The Sens are not a great team either so they are not just going to get hot on a dime again. They are going up against a Wild team that is 22-10-4 this season and they have been playing very well as they are one of the better teams in the Western Conference. They were in a bit of a slump right before the break, but they went into the break off of a 4-3 win at home against the Blackhawks and that break came at the perfect time for them as they were able to recharge. They came out of the break on Friday with a 3-2 win in OT against the Stars on the road and now they are going to be back at home with a day of rest, something the Senators are not playing with as they played last night and still had to travel. The Wild are starting to play much better now as that break was needed and they have been the better defensive team all season as the Senators are starting to give up more goals again. The Wild will win this game at home.
