Villanova is coming into this game with an 8-5 record this season and they are 1-1 in the conference. They have been playing much better in their recent games as they have won 5 of their last 6, but their only quality win in that span came at home against Cincinnati. They have been beating up on a lot of weaker teams recently, but now they are coming off of a loss on the road against Creighton in their last game, losing 86-79. They have only played 2 road games this season and they were both losses, losing to Creighton in their last game and also losing 83-76 against Saint Joseph's earlier this year. Neutral location games have not been great for them either as they are 1-2 in those, their only win coming against Temple. They are going up against a Butler team that is 7-6 this season and they are 0-2 in the conference, but they are only going to be hungry to get their 1st conference win of the season here. They have not been playing well recently as they have lost their last 5 straight games after starting the season 7-1, but they have also played their last 3 straight as well as 4 of those 5 games against ranked opponents. They have road losses against Houston and Marquette, a neutral location loss to Wisconsin in that span, and they are coming off of a 4 point loss at home against UConn in their last game, a game that they did play well in. They also have a 3 point loss at home to North Dakota State, but that was a sandwich game between Houston and Wisconsin which were 2 ranked teams they had to travel for. Butler has played much better at home this season and after the brutal stretch of schedule they just went through, they are going to get up for this game at home against a weaker opponent to try and break their losing streak. Butler has not been great from the field this season, but their 3 point shooting has been one of the better ones in the country. Villanova has been great with their shooting from the field and from 3 point range, but Butler has been much better at defending these shots than Villanova has been.
