Detroit vs. New York (Tigers RL)
(MLB) Detroit vs. NY Yankees,
Point Spread: 1.50 | -140.00 Detroit (Away)
Result: Win
Detroit had a tough break on Wednesday, as starting pitcher Matt Manning exited after one inning when he was hit by 119.5 mph comebacker by Giancarlo Stanton. I felt Manning gave Detroit a pitching advantage it would ride to an ML victory as road underdogs. The misfortune aside, I was still encouraged by the Tigers' performance in the 4-3 loss, and feel fortune should be on their side on Thursday.

As for tomorrow's pitching matchup, I believe the Tigers have the advantage once again. Eduardo Rodriguez has allowed just one run in two of his last three starts and sports a 3.03 ERA on the road this season. Yankees starter Carlos Rodón has been a disappointment since signing with NY in the offseason, starting the season on the IL and posting a 2-4 record with a 5.70 ERA in nine outings.

I'm confident the Tigers can at least keep the game close — the +1.5-run line spread is a worthwhile wager at -140 odds.
