Green Bay vs. Chicago (Bears ML)

Money Line: -105.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Loss
Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur's methodical pace (31st in pace with 30.21 seconds per play) chews up the time of possession, but what happens if Chicago scores quickly on Sunday? The Packers want to run the ball to take the pressure off of quarterback Jordan Love and their awful defense, but all that goes out the window when opposing teams get up on the scoreboard too soon.

The GB defense was 27th in EPA allowed per play and allowed five yards per carry (31st in EPA allowed per handoff) in 2022. That is problematic when the stop unit bleeds points, as the Packers have to scramble offensively to climb back into the game. That takes the ball out of Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillion's hands, which isn't their offensive philosophy.

Besides, how is it that we're valuing the unproven Love and the Packers' leaky defense over Justin Fields and the much-improved Bears offense? Fields is going to make plays on the ground, but he should make leaps in his development as a passer with a better receiving unit and an improved o-line. The addition of D.J. Moore is a game-changer for a passing offense that wants to stretch defenses after finishing 29th in plays of 25 yards or more. Fields will keep the Packers guessing on Sunday, proving he can also be as much of a threat through the air as he is in the run game.

Bet on Da Bears at nearly even odds to win SU.
