The Spartans broke out offensively against Baylor, scoring 88 points on 63.3 percent shooting. It was a Sparty Party in Detroit, as PG Tyson Walker finally got into a rhythm from long range (25 points on 9-of-16 shooting and 4-for-4 from deep). The MSU star came into Saturday's game shooting 33.3% from three, significantly down from the past two seasons (41.5% in 2022-23 and 47.3% in 2021-22). As a team, MSU has been off the mark from beyond the arc but shot 8-for-12 vs. the Bears. That was bound to change, with shooters like Walker and Jaden Akins underperforming, and I feel confident Saturday's performance turned the tide.

Considering that MSU shoots 69.2% at the rim, positive regression from three-point range should result in a more efficient MSU offense (54th in offensive efficiency). Oakland's defense is weak inside (its opponents shoot 66.5% at the rim), so I predict another solid offensive showing from the Spartans tomorrow against the Golden Grizzlies (160th in defensive efficiency).

Oakland is also efficient at the rim (68.9%) and has enough talent to compete with MSU. I don't expect a blowout, as the Golden Grizzlies are familiar with their in-state foe, and have played pretty well this season, beating Xavier and playing Ohio State close.

At 134.5 total points, I feel comfortable betting on the over!
