There's a lot of respect for these offenses, but I think it's gotten out of hand.

Miller Moss played well in the Holiday Bowl, but that performance was against a shell of an overrated Louisville defense. He has some talented playmakers around him, but they're not very experienced. The LSU defense should be improved under new coordinator Blake Baker, who led a Havoc-generating defense at Missouri. The Tigers ranked in the top 25 in Success Rate, Line Yards and Stuff Rate under him, and he has a superstar at linebacker in Harold Perkins Jr.

LSU will also start a first-year QB in Garrett Nussmeier. The ground game is a question mark with Josh Williams expected to be RB1, as he averaged just 2.4 yards after contact last year. He'll also face an improved defense as USC hired UCLA d-coordinator D'Anton Lynn, whose defense shut down opposing rushing attacks and had the best overall pass rush in CFB last season. There is plenty of talent on the Trojans' defense for him to work with.
