The following is my side prediction from my free Duke-NC State game preview (available on our website):

Duke's performance against Miami was lost in the box score, as it led late into the third quarter and was impressive defensively in short-yardage situations. The Hurricanes struggled to run the football against the Blue Devils' line, which stuffed 38 percent of Miami's 29 rushing attempts. Duke also successfully harassed UM QB Cam Ward, forcing a turnover and producing six tackles for loss.

The Blue Devils will exploit the Wolfpack's poor blocking on Saturday, building off of last week's performance. North Carolina State has allowed 68 tackles for loss (129th), 19 sacks (82nd), and committed 16 turnovers (115th) this season, ranking 130th nationally in Havoc Allowed. The freshman QB CJ Bailey will have trouble with this Duke defense, as his offensive line allowed 21 pressures in the last two games against Stanford and Cal. That's a cause for concern against a Duke defense ranked 2nd in the nation in tackles for loss, 13th in sacks and second in turnovers created (third in Defensive Havoc). The Devils' secondary also does a great job of creating contested catches.

With all that said, I'm backing the Blue Devils to cover in Saturday's ACC rivalry clash with the Wolfpack.
