Betting Trends: Los Angeles is 4-1 both SU and ATS as a home favorite under Jim Harbaugh, while Denver is 4-8 straight-up and 6-6 against the spread as a road underdog under Sean Payton.
I like to see money coming in on Denver, as it will help us get under the key number of three betting on Los Angeles. While I understand why the Broncos are appealing, this spot isn't a good one for Bo Nix. The rookie appears to have hit a wall (five INTs in the past two weeks) and the Broncos struggled to run the football in the first matchup between these teams in Denver (44 yards). They also don't have the big downfield receiving threats that can create problems for the LA secondary. There is no Mike Evans on Denver's team...
The Chargers need this game and will be motivated after last week's disastrous performance versus Tampa. LA beat Denver 23-16 earlier this season and has made strides offensively since that game, as the passing game has benefitted from the emergence of rookie WR Ladd McConkey. Denver has been vulnerable in consecutive games and can't keep getting away with playing like that.
I like Los Angeles to cover as 2.5-point favorites on Thursday.
