There is no nice way to put it, the Royals offense is dreadful right now. They’ve managed just 1.75 rpg in their last 12, scoring more than three just twice in that stretch. They were also the worst-hitting team in the majors during September, batting just .202 as a team. The good news for KC (and the reason they actually made the playoffs) is the fact their pitching has been outstanding. Because of those two things, the Royals have seen the total go under 7.5 in 12 of their last 15 games.
KC starter Seth Lugo has had a very nice season, posting a 3.00 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP in his 33 starts. He’s been even better lately, with a 2.08 .93 in his last six starts, with only one of them exceeding 7.5 runs. Baltimore starter Zach Eflin was good for Tampa Bay and he’s been great since he was traded to the Birds at the deadline. He has a 2.37 ERA, 1.10 WHIP in the eight starts he’s made for Baltimore.
With the Royals inability to score runs, I’m not sure it matters who the starter is for Baltimore. I believe the Orioles could score 5 and we would still have a great chance to cash this ticket. Play the Under with confidence today.
