No team has undergone a more dramatic offensive transformation than the Panthers. They were a plodding, run-first offense last season and averaged just 17.9 ppg last year (122nd) and have become a pass-heavy offense that puts up 35.5 ppg this season (19th). The SMU offense is very dependent on the running game but that plays right into the strength of this Pitt defense. I wouldn’t be stunned to see a Panthers victory today but catching better than a touchdown makes this a no-brainer.
